The Duncan Academy

Ducklings

The Duncan Academy's primary goal in the infant program is that infants are cared for in a loving, nurturing, and safe environment similar to what they experience at home. Infants develop at varying paces and our staff will make acconunodations to ensure that your infant is meeting milestones at an appropriate pace while being shown attention, affection and love.

The infant curriculum will help children to develop the large and small motor skills deemed developmentally appropriate by the American Bureau ofPediatrics. The curriculum will provide children the opportunity to be successful in learning to hold their held up, sit up, roll over, crawl, play patty-cake, peek-a-boo, recognize people and objects, and be developmentally ready to make the transition to the toddler room. Infants with parental consent will begin Infant Sign Language at approximately 4 months old or whenever agreed upon by parents and staff. The Duncan Academy staff will be in constant communication with parents regarding their child's daily activities and developmental milestones.
